A Chicago native, Kathy is a Midwestern girl at heart with a passion for global travel and a belief that how we lead shapes what we create. She is an award-winning strategic communicator, entrepreneur, athlete, and author with over 20 years of sales and marketing leadership experience across technology startups, nonprofits, and Fortune 500 companies, including Sun Microsystems, VERISIGN, Microsoft, Citrix, SAP, and Amazon Web Services.
Kathy works at the intersection of marketing, leadership, and human performance, helping organizations align how they think, lead, and communicate to drive meaningful growth. Her experience has shown that growth challenges are rarely only about strategy—they are rooted in leadership, team dynamics, and clarity of message. Drawing on her background in team sports and experiential learning with horses, she brings a distinct approach to leadership development focused on presence, communication, and alignment.
She is the author of Waves of Change: Growth Mindset Tools for Connected Balance™, which introduces a heart, mind, and body framework with practical tools to strengthen decision-making, communication, and leadership effectiveness. Her work in equine-assisted learning led her to become a Certified Equine Facilitator™, where she guides leaders and teams in building self-awareness, trust, and more effective ways of working together through real-time experiential feedback from horses.
As Founder of Marchitecture, Kathy combines fractional CMO leadership with experiential learning and growth mindset practices to help mission-driven organizations align marketing, leadership, and teams to drive growth. She provides strategic expertise in brand, messaging, storytelling, and integrated go-to-market strategy, alongside leadership development experiences that create both business and human impact. Kathy holds a Master of Science in Management, a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, and certifications in Digital Marketing (CDMP), Compassionate Leadership, HeartMath®, and Reiki.
